Hi, my name is
Neftali Rivera. As so many of us 7, 10, 14, 16, 18 handicappers and beginners we enjoy playing
golf, and more important, we want to have fun and lower our scores. This is what
golf is really all about, having fun and challenging yourself to lower your scores, unless of course you are competing on the
PGA Tour, in which case it would be your job, however, even
Golf Pros have fun while competing.
On this website you will find golf instructions and lessons that will improve your golf swing, your short game, your putting, your grip, your score and most important bring fun back to your game. The way I see it, golf is 50% Talent, 50% Mental, and within that 100% there is 50% Luck and 50% Fun. So, go out and practice some of these instructions and lessons, develop a good mental game attitude, get lucky, and have some fun, you will be surprised when you begin to see lower scores on your cards.

Testimonials
“Hitting the golf ball a long way requires maximum club head speed and in order to generate that I need the most core strength and flexibility I can have. Power Balance helps me to get the most out of my body and I don’t take a swing without it.”
-SCOTT SMITH
“I don’t really do a lot of testimonials, but this really works! I came across Power Balance when someone did the test on me. That night, while playing for the Phoenix Suns, there were about three of my teammates with the product on and we won that game by 57 points! I kept feeling something when I wore the bracelet, so I kept wearing it. When I took it off I went back to normal. I’ve been wearing the bracelet ever since. I want to do everything to get the slightest advantage; wristbands, necklaces, t-shirts, band-aids, everything and anything we can get our hands on. I’m here to tell you it works!”

Golf is a game that is played on a five-inch course –

TIPS OF THE MONTH
If you want to try something simple that can really lead to better ball striking, work on keeping your backswing from getting too long. A majority of swing faults occur as we try to go back farther than our bodies are capable of because of either lack of training or lack of flexibility.
One of the most common faults I work on is the “over-the-top” move. Now this is rarely a problem on a short wedge shot or a pitch or chip. And the reason is that the clubhead stays on a good path when the backswing is short. But when I try to swing back more fully, it is very easy to get off-line and hit a pull. And even as a pretty flexible person, I still run into difficulty when my backswing gets close to parallel.
Here are just a couple of other thoughts to help convince you that this is a good thing:
-
A shortened backswing does NOT equal significant power loss. The majority of our power is generated in the bottom-half of the swing, as the clubhead approaches the ball.
-
A shortened backswing generally leads to more solid ball striking, which in turn promotes more consistent distance and better ball control.
-
A shortened backswing makes it easier to maintain a proper swing path, and therefore makes it easier to start the ball on the correct line.
-
Even when we feel like we shorten our backswing, most of the time the club will still get close to parallel because our wrists will hinge.
Finally, a shortened backswing DOES NOT mean a small shoulder turn. The upper-body should turn as fully as it is comfortable. When you reach this point your backswing is complete. Our problems occur when we push beyond this limit, so by working at keeping it limited you will find some nice results.

As I watch a lot of golf played, I see one common trait that occurs to cause trouble for the average player. This problem is in the swing path, and that most golfers, whether they hook or slice, swing the club “over-the-top” or across the line. Just observe this yourself next time you play. Watch where any other golfer is aimed, and then watch the direction that the ball starts. I would bet that 95% of the balls will start left of the line the person is aimed (for right-handed players).
Now watch the golfers on TV, or any good golfers you may know. Watch how the ball seems to start the direction they are lined up. This is a SIGNIFICANT difference between the two categories of players.
Swinging across the line like this leads to many problems. Slices, duck hooks, shanks, tops, pulls, and other unfriendly results are a product of the “over-the-top”swing. While set-up, ball position, and other good fundementals are very important, the swing path is what ultimately determines where the ball will go and should be a MAJOR FOCUS of your swing.
So how do I know how my path is? An easy way is to have someone else look at it, but you can check it yourself. Lay a club down aligned at a target and line up yourself along it. Put another club down in front of the ball that lies parallel to the other club and hit a shot. If you can get the ball to take off over the club in front of it, then you are OK. If not, then you know what you need to work on. Proper, consistent swing path leads to consistent ball flight and better ball striking. Focus on the INITIAL DIRECTION of the ball flight for great golf.

Chipping is a lesson that is often taught, but rarely executed properly. Your body weight is intended to stay forward, but many people shift their weight away from the target. This instantly causes the bottom of the swing to strike behind the intended spot and cause the dreaded scoop. Try this drill. Set your weight on your front foot, and lift the heel of your back foot so only the toes are touching, bearing very little weight. Hit the shot while keeping your weight in the same position. Practicing this drill will lead to many crisp shots.

Learning how to chip accurately and effectively is easy if you go about it the right way, but chances are:
- You’re intimidated because everyone else on the golf course seems to know what they’re doing
- You don’t understand the basics of the different chip shots (yes, there are different shots)
- You don’t know which clubs to use or how to hit them for best accuracy
There are any number of ways that you can learn to master the short game, but most of them are a lot of work and don’t really help anyway.
There are always new trends and fads that promise to get you to pro golfer level fast.
And I tried most of them – I really wanted to learn how to chip quickly and effectively with all the important information included.
Luckily I met a pro-golfer. He was also frustrated at the many obstacles the new golfers faced when trying to learn the game especialy the contradictory advice being handed out when it came to the short game.
Together we began working on a solution, a system that would help golfers to grips with the different chip shots and it
REALLY WORKS
